Aluminum 6061

Good mechanical properties and weldability make it one of the most commonly used general-purpose alloys. Commonly used in the manufacture of aircraft, ships, auto parts and bicycle frames.

Aluminum 5052

It is one of the most commonly used aluminum alloys in sheet metal manufacturing and is easy to bend, stamp and shear. Highly resistant to corrosion, especially in seawater. Commonly used in marine and aircraft equipment, street lights, fuel lines and railings.

Aluminum 2024

Good fatigue resistance and average machinability, but not weldable and poor corrosion resistance. Used in applications requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio, such as aircraft wings, fuselages and tension structures.

Aluminum 6063

Good mechanical properties and high weldability, but without heat treatment the strength near the weld may be significantly reduced. Extruded profiles for construction, window frames, roofing, pipes and furniture.

Aluminum 7075

Good fatigue strength and average machinability, but not weldable and has limited corrosion resistance. The cost is higher compared to other aluminum alloys. Commonly used in aircraft wings, fuselages, bicycle parts and rock climbing equipment.

Advantage

Transportation: The combination of lightweight, strength and ductility makes aluminum an ideal material for transportation applications. It is used in automotive, aircraft, rail and marine applications and in the manufacture of fuel-efficient engines for cars and trucks. Its light weight reduces fuel consumption and emissions.

Construction: Aluminum facilitates the construction of corrosion-resistant and low-cost buildings. A variety of aluminum products are used in new construction and renovations, and are used in earthquake-prone areas due to their strength and light weight. It is also a good light reflector and is often used in lighting fixtures.

Vehicle: In a motor vehicle accident, most of the impact caused by a car is absorbed primarily by its aluminum structure.

Air Travel: Strong aluminum alloys can withstand the extreme pressure and stress of high-altitude flights. Thin aluminum panels keep out the cold and keep air flowing. Many interior components, such as aircraft seats, are made from aluminum or aluminum composites to reduce weight, thereby saving fuel, reducing emissions and increasing the aircraft's payload.

Power transmission lines: Aluminum can be drawn into thin wires, often used in products such as light bulbs and telephone wires. Most long-distance, high-voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines are also made of aluminum.
