Extruding aluminum involves the design and cutting of the dies or tools used to convert the aluminum block into the desired profile. The extrusion process is particularly useful for creating complex cross-sections with smooth surface finishes. In the window and door framing industry, this process is commonly used to create custom rails, frames, rails and vertical frames.

We are able to offer value-add services throughout the process from 3D print outs for verification through to specialised final finishes. Through our Coyo sourcing and solutions division we can assist across all stages of the custom extrusion process from production design and assistance through to product manufacture and packaging.
Custom Aluminum Custom Extrusion Process Design Process - Based on the intended use of the aluminum extrusion, design a die around the profile of the extrusion. Your aluminum part may require consideration of some design considerations, such as wall thickness and tolerances. Our in-house design and technical team prepares CAD drawings for you.
Die Cutting
Once the drawing is approved, we will provide you with a non-tooled sample.
Batch Production
The extrusion process is just like extruding Peradol from a Peradol press. Of course, it is much more complicated than extruding aluminum from a tube with your fingers. Various shapes can be produced according to your requirements.

Value Added Processes
Powder coating, anodizing and light machining including drilling, cutting, deburring, punching and machining.
Wall Thickness
The thinner the section, the more difficult it becomes to extrude with accuracy.
Alloy and Temper
Is the product to be formed or shaped? Softer aluminium alloys may be required as compared to a structural or marine aluminium alloy. Temper is also important.
Aluminium Alloys recommended are 6060, 6063, 6106, 6061 and 6082.
Tempers recommended are F, O,T1, T4, T5, T591 and T6.
Tolerances should be considered for componentry and end use.
Surface Treatment such as anodising and powdercoating should be considered if the aluminium extrusion is to be used in a marine application, airborne contaminants and warranty specific applications.
The finished length of the product needs to be considered for travel.
